Snap It Up


The Lyre admires Tom Raworth. So when we saw that he has a new book out, bearing this cover, the 3-5 business days couldn't start soon enough. Incomprehensible Things is only available here: we encourage readers to avail themselves.

The back cover of the book features a brilliantly beachcombed likeness of the author (by Florence Wylde Raworth). The National Portrait Gallery should snap it up as a companion piece immediately.

The author himself is available here, where we hope to hear of his better health soon. The Lyre was encouraged this week to see that the Cambridge English Faculty has taken up Raworth's great verse lecture, 'How to Patronise a Poem', as a model for their outreach and engagement work (click to close read):
